Subject: Yes! Yes, we are guilty! But who is guiltier!

Dear Coalition,

I am a British subject - yes, that's right a 'subject' not a 'citizen' - and even I must admit that you have got us bang to rights. Those trillions upon trillions of pounds are rightfully yours. But before we hand them over, I urge you to ask yourselves, who was it that made us British so aggressive and so arrogant? Could there have been, somewhere in the adolescence of our history, some deeply damaging abuse by perhaps another bigger, older nation, one whose deeply perverse acts so warped our national psyche that we became an abuser in turn? Need I remind you that in 1066, the entire island kingdom of Britain was invaded, destroyed and then rebuilt by the Normans?

That's right, the fucking French.

Blame where blame is due, dudes.

Keep cheery,

Alex Clarke
